Kamala Harris' campaign announced on Sunday that it has raised an unprecedented USD 200 million in less than a week since she entered the race for the White House, reflecting widespread support in her favor.

The campaign cautioned that the November 5 election will be very close and will be decided by a small number of voters in a few key states.

Vice President Harris, 59, emerged as the presumptive presidential nominee for the Democratic Party after President Joe Biden announced on July 20 that he was withdrawing from the race.

Michael Tyler, Harris for President Communications Director, stated that 'Team Harris has raised USD 200 million since President Biden's endorsement last Sunday -- a record-breaking amount. Sixty-six percent of contributions came from first-time donors, highlighting the strong grassroots support for the Vice President.'

'Vice President Harris has swiftly unified the Democratic Party behind her campaign, with grassroots enthusiasm yielding tangible results, from impressive fundraising to unprecedented volunteer turnout in key battleground states,' Tyler added.

However, Tyler warned of a closely contested race. He emphasized that the momentum for Harris is real, but so are the critical fundamentals of the election, which will be decided by a small number of voters in select states.

This weekend marks 100 days until the election, and our campaign is channeling national energy for widespread action, Tyler noted.

The campaign has garnered endorsements from young voters, voters of color, labor organizations, and notable figures like Barack and Michelle Obama, resulting in a rapid consolidation of support. Just this weekend, dozens of surrogates joined Team Harris on the campaign trail, he asserted.

Since the past Sunday, we have witnessed unprecedented grassroots support nationwide, with over 170,000 new volunteers joining Team Harris. This weekend alone will see more than 2,300 campaign events across battleground states, and the VP herself has gained millions of followers on TikTok, Tyler stated.

Harris is set to be formally announced as the presidential nominee at next month's Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

This week, hundreds of thousands of supporters showed their backing through calls, raising millions, with support from diverse coalitions including Black women and men, Latinas, white women, and the LGBTQ community.

Meanwhile, Trump, her Republican opponent, is reportedly scrambling and appears apprehensive about debating Harris, Tyler added, citing Trump's recent controversial comments about ending elections.
