Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has called on senior officers from various central government departments to collaborate in building a 'New Odisha' by 2036, marking the state's 100th year of formation.
Addressing reporters in New Delhi after meeting with Odisha cadre IAS and senior officers on central deputation, Majhi emphasized the state's aim to reach developed status by 2047, in line with India's centenary of Independence. The meeting saw participation from Deputy Chief Ministers K V Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, and other senior officials.
Majhi highlighted the state's mission approach with plans spanning from an immediate 100-day action plan to long-term visions for 2047. He urged coordination between the Centre and state to expedite implementation of proposals from the NITI Aayog meeting, stressing the importance of collaboration for Odisha's development.
The Chief Minister also pointed out opportunities under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Purvodaya' plan, which emphasizes Eastern India's development. Majhi sought central support for industrial infrastructure, railway and airport projects, disaster-resilient structures, hydro storage development, and financial inclusions in unbanked areas.
With Centre-state coordination, Majhi expressed confidence in achieving the goal of a developed Odisha.
