Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath introduced four new Cabinet Ministers - OP Rajbhar, Anil Kumar, Dara Singh Chauhan, and Sunil Sharma - to the House on Monday as the Assembly session commenced. 'These four Cabinet Ministers were part of this Assembly. I introduce them as part of the Cabinet in this House,' Adityanath said while addressing the Assembly.
In a related development, Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana welcomed Samajwadi Party leader Mata Prasad Pandey, who has been appointed as the Leader of Opposition in the House. 'I thank you for your gesture. The state is facing very serious issues currently - there are floods, law and order issues, and corruption as well,' Pandey stated.
Speaker Satish Mahana assured, 'We will discuss all of these. You are the LoP and you have the right to give notices; you will do it, and we will discuss all of them. The government is ready to answer.' Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party (SP) MLAs protested over concerns related to electricity, floods, and law and order.
In his remarks, Uttar Pradesh Assembly LoP and SP MLA Mata Prasad Pandey greeted Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath as the Assembly session began. 'I will try my best to raise the issues of the deprived people who have been neglected by this government in the Vidhan Sabha. We will raise all issues, be it electricity, law and order, or governance. It is a 5-day session. We had requested an extension for another 5 days. The government will decide on the session's duration. We will try to continue it further to discuss all the problems,' Pandey said speaking to ANI.
Earlier in the day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a legislative party meeting ahead of the State Assembly Monsoon Session commencing on Monday. Deputy Chief Ministers Brajesh Pathak and Keshav Prasad Maurya were also present in the meeting.
