Leader of the Opposition in the Odisha Assembly, Naveen Patnaik, has leveled serious accusations against the BJP, claiming the party has failed to live up to its promises. Patnaik stated that the BJP, which pledged to be a game changer, has turned out to be just a 'name changer.'

During a discussion on the budget for fiscal 2024-25, Patnaik alleged that the BJP government did not allocate sufficient funds to several schemes, despite these being part of their election manifesto. He pointed out that 80% of the BJP's budget is composed of schemes initiated by the previous BJD administration, albeit under new names.

From budgetary allocations to promises of social security and free electricity, Patnaik criticized the BJP for making hollow promises and described the party as a 'Jumla' (gimmick) party, claiming it has cheated the people of Odisha. He demanded transparency and adequate funds to fulfill their electoral promises.
