The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator, Balmukund Acharya, on Monday accused the Congress regime of banning Kanwar activities in Rajasthan. Acharya emphasized that law and order in the state has improved since the BJP came to power.
During a media briefing, Acharya stated, 'Under Congress rule, incidents like stone-pelting on Kanwariyas, halting Kanwariyas, and banning their Satsangs were common. The situation has improved significantly with the BJP's governance. The law and order situation is now robust.' He linked the death threats faced by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma to the government's crackdown on mafia elements. Acharya criticized the Congress era as a 'mafia-raj' but indicated changes since the BJP's assumption of power.
'Since taking charge, the Chief Minister has been actively dismantling the mafia-raj established during Congress rule. As a result, individuals who are either imprisoned or facing imprisonment are agitated. Threats to the CM won't deter the established rule of law,' asserted Acharya. Following death threats received by CM Sharma, reportedly from Shyalawas Jail in Dausa, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Lalsot Lokesh Sonwal informed that the police have identified the suspect and recovered nine mobile phones from the jail premises.
'This morning at 7:30 a.m., Dausa SP Ranjita Sharma received a call from Jaipur officials reporting threats originating from Central Jail Shyalawas. Subsequent verification took place, and a combined search with jail authorities was conducted,' said ASP Sonwal. The mobile phone and SIM card used for the threat were confiscated.
'The suspect has been identified, an FIR has been filed, and investigations are underway. A thorough search unearthed nine mobile phones. Due to security concerns, the suspect's name remains confidential,' Sonwal added. It was revealed that the accused, serving a sentence under Section 376, hails from Darjeeling.
Further security details about the suspect will remain undisclosed for now. (ANI)
