A devastating landslide in Kerala's Wayanad district has claimed the lives of 93 people, with 128 others injured, according to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The intense rainfall-triggered disaster left an entire area demolished, prompting the state to open 45 relief camps housing 3,069 people.
'The landslide in Wayanad is a heart-wrenching disaster. There was extremely heavy rainfall,' said Vijayan. 'We have recovered 93 bodies so far, but the numbers may change. Rescue operations are ongoing, and many are still trapped under the debris.'
