Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has taken a marginal lead over Republican Donald Trump, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll.

The three-day poll, completed on Sunday, shows Harris with 43% support among registered voters, while Trump trails closely with 42%, within the poll’s 3.5 percentage point margin of error. The recent poll underscores Harris's strengthened position following Biden’s exit from the race, which resulted in a significant boost in her campaign's donations and endorsements.

According to the findings, voters prefer Trump’s policies on the economy, immigration, and crime, whereas Harris is viewed more favorably on healthcare. The poll surveyed 1,025 U.S. adults, including 876 registered voters, from July 26-28.
