Om Prakash Mathur Appointed as Sikkim Governor
Senior BJP leader Om Prakash Mathur was sworn in as the 16th governor of Sikkim on Wednesday by Chief Justice Biswanath Somadder. Mathur, who is 72, succeeds Lakshman Prasad Acharya. The ceremony at Raj Bhavan was attended by Sikkim's Chief Minister and other dignitaries.

Senior BJP leader Om Prakash Mathur was sworn in as the 16th governor of Sikkim on Wednesday. The oath of office was administered by Sikkim High Court Chief Justice Biswanath Somadder during a ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan.
The 72-year-old Mathur succeeds Lakshman Prasad Acharya, who has been appointed the governor of Assam. Mathur, a former Rajya Sabha member, brings considerable political experience to his new role.
The swearing-in ceremony saw the presence of Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, along with other ministers and senior officials, marking a significant moment in the state's political landscape.
