Union minister Giriraj Singh challenged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to take legal action against him over his inquiry into Gandhi's caste and religion. Singh dismissed the opposition party's privilege motion against Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a political maneuver.

Speaking to reporters, the Hindutva leader questioned why Gandhi's advocacy for a caste census warranted a breach of privilege, especially if others inquired about his caste and the prime minister referenced another leader's speech.

Singh asserted that it is not a crime to ask about someone's caste or religion and accused Congress of stalling the empowerment of backward castes while touting BJP's support for the caste census in Bihar.
