Rahul Gandhi Addresses Tragedy in Himachal Pradesh Cloudburst Incidents

Rahul Gandhi expressed his condolences over the tragic loss of lives due to cloudburst incidents in Himachal Pradesh. He discussed relief efforts with Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. Three deaths and 40 missing persons were reported. Gandhi assured that rescue operations were underway with the help of NDRF, SDRF, and state authorities.

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Thursday condoled the loss of lives in the recent cloudburst incidents in Himachal Pradesh. He revealed his discussions with Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to assess the 'difficult situation.'

Officials reported three fatalities and approximately 40 individuals missing after two separate cloudburst incidents devastated parts of Himachal Pradesh. The calamity saw many houses and roads washed away, leaving two hydro power projects severely damaged.

'The news of deaths and disappearances due to cloudbursts and heavy rainfall in Shimla, Mandi, and Kullu is extremely saddening,' Gandhi stated on X, formerly Twitter. He extended his deepest condolences to the bereaved families and confirmed that rescue operations involving the NDRF, SDRF, and state administration are ongoing.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also expressed her heartbreak over the incident, praying for the safety of Himachal Pradesh's residents and the departed souls.
