Political Turmoil: Attack on MLA Jitendra Awhad's SUV in Mumbai

Nationalist Congress Party (SP) MLA Jitendra Awhad's vehicle faced a violent attack on Thursday, reportedly due to his controversial comments about ex-Rajya Sabha MP Sambhaji Chhatrapati.
The incident, involving three to four individuals, saw Awhad's SUV being struck with sticks and stones on P D'Mello Road in south Mumbai. The attack transpired as he was heading towards Thane via the Eastern Freeway.
Authorities have registered a case against six individuals, charging them with attempted murder and unlawful assembly. The attackers, associated with Swaraj Sanghatana, were led by Ankush Kadam, with responsibility later claimed by Dhananjay Jadhav. NCP (SP) supporters protested the attack, leading to temporary detentions in Thane.
