Telangana's Controversial 'Job Calendar': Promise or Deception?

The Congress government in Telangana unveiled a 'job calendar' as part of its election promise, detailing recruitment for 18 types of posts. Announced to address grievances from the previous BRS regime, it faced opposition criticism for lacking specifics on job numbers. The calendar aims to streamline the recruitment process.

On Friday, the Congress government in Telangana introduced a 'job calendar' in the Legislative Assembly, fulfilling an election promise.

The 'job calendar' outlines 18 types of recruitments, providing post categories, notification timelines, exam dates, recruiting agencies, and required qualifications.

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka stated that the calendar’s release is part of efforts to support unemployed youth and rectify previous delays and issues in the recruitment process.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and his team collaborated with the UPSC chairman and revamped the state public service commission to ensure a smooth recruitment process. The state Cabinet approved the calendar on August 1.

However, the opposition BRS party criticized the calendar for not specifying job numbers. Led by K T Rama Rao, protestors accused Congress of deceiving the youth with false job promises.
