Trump Hesitates on Debate Stage with Harris: A Storm Awaits?

Former US President Donald Trump has not yet decided whether to engage in a debate with Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump's indecision has sparked criticism from the Harris Campaign, alleging he is avoiding facing her on the debate stage despite leading in polls.

Former US president and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump revealed on Friday that he remains undecided on partaking in a debate against his potential Democratic opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris.

“I want to. We're leading in the polls by quite a bit still...She's better than Biden, but I think ultimately she’ll be worse,” Trump remarked in a Fox News interview. “If I don’t do the debate, they’ll say, ‘Oh, Trump’s not doing the debate.’ I mean right now I say, why should I do a debate? I’m leading in the polls. And everybody knows her, everybody knows me.”

The Harris Campaign has accused Trump of dodging the debate, citing a previous commitment to debate “any time, any place.” Cedric Richmond, co-chair of the Harris for President campaign, urged Trump to face Harris on September 10, emphasizing that Trump must back up his rhetoric with action on the debate stage.
