Assam CM Criticizes Jharkhand Govt Over Infiltration Issue

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma criticized the JMM-led coalition government in Jharkhand for remaining silent on infiltration issues, accusing it of pursuing vote-bank politics. Sarma emphasized the urgency of addressing infiltration and claimed the BJP is the only party capable of safeguarding Jharkhand’s culture, traditions, and resources.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has sharply criticized the JMM-led coalition government in Jharkhand for its perceived inaction on the issue of infiltration. Sarma accused the government of remaining silent due to its vote-bank politics, while asserting that tackling infiltration is a collective responsibility, not just that of the Union government.

Highlighting the changing demographic trends, Sarma pointed to significant infiltration in the Santhal Pargana region, claiming that Bangladeshi infiltrators have increased from 20 to 48 percent in 20 assembly segments. He raised concerns that continued infiltration could eventually lead to these individuals occupying positions of power within assemblies.

Addressing BJP workers at a rally, Sarma asserted that only the BJP could protect Jharkhand’s cultural heritage, natural resources, and indigenous lands, positioning the party as the true guardian of the state's interests ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
