Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis criticized Uddhav Thackeray, leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), saying his recent comments against Union Home Minister Amit Shah prove his alignment with the 'Aurangzeb fan club'. Fadnavis was reacting to Thackeray's statements that branded Shah as a political descendant of Afghan king Ahmad Shah Abdali.
In a conversation with reporters, Fadnavis said, ''Amit Shah had spoken about the Aurangzeb fan club. Uddhav Thackeray today proved that he is indeed from the Aurangzeb fan club.'' The controversy began last month when Shah labeled Thackeray as the head of this so-called fan club, drawing connections to figures involved in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts.
Thackeray, for his part, accused the BJP of 'power jihad', claiming the party is destabilizing political groups to form governments. Speaking to Shiv Sena (UBT) workers in Pune, Thackeray said their former ally's actions were driven by an ambition to consolidate power, contrasting this with his party’s explanation of Hindutva to Muslims.
