Karnataka Deputy CM D K Shivakumar Slams BJP-JD(S) 'Padayatra'

Karnataka Deputy CM D K Shivakumar criticized the BJP and JD(S) for their 'padayatra' against the alleged Mysuru Urban Development Authority scam, calling it a march for redemption from their sins. He also questioned the source of JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy's family wealth, accusing them of corruption.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has fiercely criticized the BJP and JD(S) for their ongoing 'padayatra', which targets the Congress government over an alleged Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment scam. Shivakumar deems this march a hypocritical quest for 'redemption from their sins'.

During a 'Janandolana' event, aimed at countering this foot march, Shivakumar not only took aim at BJP leaders but also called out JD(S) leaders, including Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy, questioning the legitimacy of their amassed wealth. Drawing attention to the lavish assets of Kumaraswamy's family, he implied that their riches couldn't have been earned solely through farming.

Accusations extended to H D Balakrishna Gowda, Kumaraswamy's elder brother and a retired KAS officer. Shivakumar urged transparency regarding the family's numerous properties. He hinted at potential exposés concerning alleged denotification and mining scams involving Kumaraswamy. The political tension is set against the backdrop of the upcoming Channapatna Assembly by-polls, fueled by speculation over potential Congress candidates.
