Pravin Darekar, a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has come forward with a grave accusation against former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. Darekar alleged that Deshmukh was fully aware of the details surrounding the murder of Thane-based businessman Mansukh Hiren but chose to suppress the critical information.
The controversy escalated after an explosives-laden SUV was discovered on February 25, 2021, near 'Antilia,' the residence of industrialist Mukesh Ambani, located in South Mumbai. Mere days later, on March 5, Hiren was found dead in a creek in Thane, leading to a murder investigation.
At the time of these incidents, Anil Deshmukh served as the Maharashtra Home Minister in the Maha Vikas Aghadi government under Uddhav Thackeray. Darekar insists that Deshmukh did not even share the details with both legislative houses and has called for a thorough investigation to uncover the full truth.
