Nirupam Criticizes Uddhav Thackeray's Delhi Visit Amid Maharashtra Floods

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam criticized Uddhav Thackeray for prioritizing his political ambitions over addressing rain-affected citizens in Maharashtra. Nirupam noted Thackeray's Delhi visit to seek Congress support, while CM Eknath Shinde canceled his trip due to state-wide torrential rains. Thackeray aims to lead MVA in the upcoming elections.

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam on Tuesday openly criticized Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray for his three-day visit to Delhi, accusing Thackeray of neglecting the rain-stricken population of Maharashtra in favor of his political ambitions. Speaking to reporters, Nirupam highlighted that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had canceled his trip to the national capital as the state faced torrential rains impacting Nashik, Pune, and other regions.

''Thackeray went to Delhi to get a better deal ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. It appears that he is more focused on his political interests rather than addressing the sufferings of those hit by the rains,'' Nirupam claimed. He added that Thackeray was attempting to garner Congress support to reclaim the chief ministerial post after the upcoming elections.

Thackeray arrived in Delhi earlier in the day and is expected to meet with several Congress leaders and members of the INDIA bloc. Nirupam also noted internal conflicts, indicating Sharad Pawar's opposition to Thackeray's ambitions, preferring his daughter Supriya Sule for the role.
