Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi lauded External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar's mature remarks on the Bangladesh unrest in Parliament. Chaturvedi emphasized the need for swift repatriation of Indian nationals as normalcy is restored and praised the government's proactive approach in managing the fragile situation.

Jaishankar informed that there are approximately 19,000 Indians in Bangladesh, including 9,000 students. He assured that India is in constant contact with its nationals through diplomatic channels. He also highlighted that former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina sought asylum in India, demonstrating the urgency and unexpected developments of the crisis.

The minister elaborated on the rising violence in Bangladesh, including attacks on police, government buildings, and minority communities. He stated that India's border forces are on high alert and that continuous communication is maintained with Dhaka authorities. Jaishankar appealed for national consensus on managing relations with Bangladesh during this sensitive period.
