President Nicolas Maduro has announced a 10-day ban on the social network X in Venezuela, accusing owner Elon Musk of inciting hatred following a controversial presidential election.

By Thursday night, Associated Press journalists in Caracas observed that posts had stopped loading on X via two private telephone services and the state-owned Movilnet.

The announcement follows a heated exchange between Maduro and Musk, who accused the Venezuelan leader of electoral fraud. Maduro claims opponents are using X to threaten his supporters and stir unrest.
