Assam CM Sarma Gears Up BJP for Jharkhand Assembly Polls

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma held discussions with AJSU President Sudesh Mahto and Jharkhand BJP President Babulal Marandi in preparation for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections. During his visit, Sarma emphasized BJP's commitment to winning the elections for a prosperous future in Jharkhand.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) party President Sudesh Mahto and Jharkhand Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Babulal Marandi on Saturday.

Following his meeting with AJSU President Mahto, Chief Minister Sarma stated, "AJSU is an important ally. We discussed our election strategy, and everything is fine. We will fight the elections well." Sarma's visit on August 2 highlighted the BJP's preparations for the upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand. He stressed the importance of a BJP victory for the state's future.

BJP's co-incharge for Jharkhand elections, Sarma said, "I witnessed tremendous enthusiasm among party workers. Their commitment assures us that we will win the elections and form our government in Jharkhand. Our mantra is to work tirelessly for a better future." Sarma also accused 'Bangladeshi infiltrators' of seizing tribal lands and criticized the lack of administrative action despite court orders to return the land to tribal families.

Upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand are slated for 2025, with polling also scheduled for Haryana, Maharashtra, and Jammu and Kashmir. The current Legislative Assembly's term ends in January 2025, prompting the Election Commission to begin preparations.

In the 2019 elections, JMM, in alliance with Congress and Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD), secured a comfortable majority with 47 seats in the 81-member house. (ANI)
