Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Sunday accused the Congress of spreading anarchy and controversies over Hindenburg Research's allegations against SEBI chairperson Madhabi Buch.

A political firestorm erupted after the U.S. short-seller claimed SEBI's reluctance to act against the Adani group may be due to its head Madhabi Puri Buch's supposed stakes in offshore funds connected to the conglomerate.

'Congress's work is only to spread anarchy and entangle the country in controversial matters,' said Scindia while responding to reporters' questions about the Hindenburg Research report.

Guna MP Scindia asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP workers are advancing development and progress, contrasting Congress's alleged attempts to mislead and keep the nation in the dark.

Both SEBI and the Adani group have rejected Hindenburg Research's accusations as 'baseless.' Madhabi Puri Buch and her husband, Dhaval Buch, issued a joint statement denying the allegations, labeling them as devoid of any truth.

On Sunday, Congress demanded immediate government action to eliminate conflicts of interest in the regulator's investigation of the Adani Group and reiterated its call for a joint parliamentary committee probe.

The BJP responded by accusing Congress and other opposition parties of conspiring to create financial instability and chaos in India, dismissing Hindenburg's claims against the SEBI chairperson as an attempt to undermine the financial watchdog.
