Pakistan's jailed former premier Imran Khan has referred to the arrest of ex-ISI chief Faiz Hameed as an 'internal issue' of the military, with no ties to his party, PTI. Khan's legal representative Intezar Panjutha made the clarification after a meeting with Khan and senior lawyers at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.
Panjutha emphasized Khan's view that the military's actions against Hameed, who served as ISI director general from 2019 to 2021, are solely an internal matter. Hameed is currently facing court martial on charges including corruption and misuse of authority.
Khan also discussed broader issues, urging peaceful protests for freedom, expressing concerns about the Supreme Court's pressure, and using Bangladesh's situation as a point of comparison for deteriorating conditions in Pakistan.
