The Democratic National Committee is set to host its convention next week in Chicago to celebrate Kamala Harris' nomination as the party's presidential candidate, a result of Joe Biden's unexpected withdrawal from the race.
Scheduled for Aug. 19-22 at the United Center, the convention promises a robust lineup of speakers, including Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, and former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. Prime-time events will be available on major networks and streaming services such as Hulu, Paramount Plus, Peacock, Max, the DNC YouTube, and X channels.
As the political celebrations unfold inside, the streets of Chicago are anticipated to see substantial protests against the Democratic administration's support for Israel's actions in Gaza. Led by the March on the DNC coalition, demonstrations are planned for Monday and Thursday, drawing attention to the Middle East conflict.
