Yáñez testified confirming her accusations, which surfaced amid other ongoing investigations against Fernández.
In a significant development on Wednesday, federal prosecutor Ramiro González formally charged Argentina's former President, Alberto Fernández, with violence against his ex-partner, former first lady Fabiola Yáñez. The charges include 'minor and serious injuries, doubly aggravated' and 'coercive threats.'
The prosecutor's accusations were corroborated by Yáñez, who testified via video call from Madrid to confirm her earlier written complaint. This case arises among other serious allegations against Fernández, including irregularities in state insurance contracts, which he also denies.
Adding to the gravity of the situation, the Argentine media has recently published photos allegedly showing Yáñez with bruises, further igniting public interest and concern. Fernández has not been seen in public since the accusations emerged.
