Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grave concerns about the safety of Hindus and other minorities in violence-stricken Bangladesh during his Independence Day address from the Red Fort. Speaking to a nation of 140 crore people, Modi emphasized India's steadfast commitment to peace and its role as a well-wisher in Bangladesh's development journey.

Modi's remarks follow the resignation and flight of Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to India amidst a violent political upheaval. Hasina's departure and the subsequent attack on minority communities have led to widespread anxiety in New Delhi. Modi assured that India will continue cooperating with the interim government in Dhaka, led by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus, to ensure peace and security.

As unrest continues, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat echoed Modi's sentiments, stating that Hindus in Bangladesh face unjust violence. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar reiterated India's serious concern over the minority status in Bangladesh, affirming the country's vigilant monitoring of the situation.
