Election Commission to Unveil Assembly Poll Schedule

The Election Commission (EC) is set to announce the schedule for assembly elections on Friday afternoon. The EC has invited the media to a press conference at 3 pm, although the states for which the schedule will be revealed remain unspecified.
The legislative assemblies of Haryana and Maharashtra are nearing the end of their terms, which expire on November 3 and November 26, respectively. Additionally, assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir are expected to be held before September 30, as per the Supreme Court deadline.
Recent visits by the poll panel to Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana were conducted to assess election readiness, but a visit to Maharashtra is still pending.
