Union Minister Nityanand Rai sharply rebuked West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's allegations that the Left and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are working together to incite unrest in the state. Rai asserted that Banerjee's statements aim to divert attention from the recent rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar hospital in Kolkata.
'Mamata Banerjee is absolutely wrong. All this is a conspiracy by the TMC, and she is giving such statements to cover up this gruesome crime,' said Rai.
Earlier, Banerjee accused both the Left and BJP of orchestrating chaos and vandalism at RG Kar Hospital, where a mob allegedly unaffiliated with student movements caused significant damage. Banerjee praised the police for their restraint amid the violence and reiterated calls for severe punishment for the doctor's murder.
