The Election Commission has declared that assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir will take place in three phases starting September 18, marking the first elections in the region since the revocation of Article 370 in 2019.
Additionally, the 90-member Haryana assembly will go to polls on October 1, with election results for both Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana expected on October 4, according to Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar.
While the announcement entails staggered voting rounds in Jammu and Kashmir, the assembly elections for Maharashtra will be disclosed later due to security concerns. Elections for other states, including Maharashtra, Jharkhand, and Delhi, are also scheduled in the near future.
