Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia paid obeisance at the Golden Temple on Sunday, praying for the release of party chief Arvind Kejriwal from jail.

Sisodia, a former Delhi deputy chief minister recently granted bail by the Supreme Court in the excise policy case, was accompanied by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Speaking to reporters at the Golden Temple complex, Sisodia expressed gratitude to the Almighty while also praying for Kejriwal's release.

Kejriwal is currently held in Tihar jail in connection with a corruption case involving the alleged excise policy scam under CBI investigation. Recalling his 17-month prison stint, Sisodia claimed his imprisonment was due to a conspiracy, maintaining he always prayed for the triumph of truth. He credited his release to the blessings of God, the Supreme Court, and the country's Constitution.

Upon his arrival in Amritsar, Sisodia praised the Mann government for its stellar work in Punjab. At the Golden Temple, Mann lauded Sisodia for revolutionizing the education sector and expressed hope for Kejriwal's imminent release. Mann also accused the BJP of attempting to dismantle the AAP by imprisoning its leaders. Several AAP leaders joined Sisodia at the temple, underscoring there was no political agenda behind the visit.
