China has strongly condemned the recent attacks in Pakistan and reiterated its commitment to supporting the country’s anti-terrorism actions, a spokesperson for the Chinese foreign ministry said during a regular press briefing on Tuesday.
The recent spate of attacks in Pakistan, which are the most widespread in years, were carried out by ethnic militants engaged in a decades-long insurgency to achieve secession for a resource-rich southwestern province. This region is home to major China-led projects, including a port and a gold and copper mine.
