India and China Engage in Constructive Talks to Resolve Border Issues

India and China held diplomatic discussions described as 'frank, constructive, and forward-looking' on Thursday, aiming to narrow differences and resolve outstanding issues along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

The 31st meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination (WMCC) on India-China Border Affairs took place in Beijing. Key Indian and Chinese officials reiterated the importance of restoring peace and respect for the LAC to normalize bilateral relations.

Both parties agreed to intensified diplomatic and military contact, uphold peace in the border areas, and abide by existing agreements. The meeting followed guidance from recent foreign ministers' discussions and built on previous WMCC engagements.
