PM Modi Aims to Strengthen Ties with Brunei and Singapore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed optimism about advancing India's historical ties with Brunei and deepening its strategic partnership with Singapore, as he commences his visit to both nations.
In a departure statement, Modi highlighted that this marks the first-ever bilateral visit by an Indian prime minister to Brunei Darussalam. He is eager to meet with Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and other members of the royal family to elevate the historic relationship.
Modi will then proceed to Singapore to meet with President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong. He will also engage with leaders from Singapore's business community.
The Prime Minister emphasized the significance of deepening the strategic partnership with Singapore, particularly in advanced manufacturing, digitalization, and sustainable development. He affirmed that these visits will further fortify India's relationships with Brunei, Singapore, and the ASEAN region.
