Putin Prefers Kamala Harris in U.S. Presidential Race Due to Her 'Infectious' Laugh
Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed a preference for U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential election, citing her infectious laugh. His comments came amid allegations against Russian media executives for election interference. Putin noted past remarks favoring Joe Biden over Donald Trump, underscoring unpredictability in American politics.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has voiced a preference for U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential election, attributing his choice to her 'infectious' laugh. This statement was made on Thursday, offering an ironic twist to his political preferences.
The comments came in the wake of the U.S. Justice Department's charges against two Russian media executives for allegedly attempting to influence the November election through pro-Russian propaganda. Earlier this year, Putin had ironically endorsed current President Joe Biden as a more predictable 'old school' politician compared to Donald Trump.
Addressing an economic forum in Russia's far east, Putin remarked that the choice rests with the American electorate, but following Biden's endorsement of Harris, he stated that Russia would support her too. Critics interpret Putin's commentary as an attempt to mock U.S. political dynamics, even as U.S. intelligence agencies contend that Russia prefers Trump due to his softer stance on Ukraine. However, Putin highlighted that Trump had indeed levied more sanctions against Russia than any previous U.S. president.
