Over 300 candidates have registered to contest in the upcoming second phase of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, officials confirmed on Thursday.

Thursday marked the final day for submission of nomination papers for the election, scheduled for September 25. A total of 310 candidates filed 329 nominations across 26 constituencies in six districts.

The Habbakadal constituency saw the highest number of candidates, 20, while Kangan had the fewest with six. Detailed nomination filings were noted across Srinagar, Budgam, Rajouri, Poonch, Reasi, and Ganderbal districts. Candidates can withdraw until September 9 at 3 pm.
