The Kerala opposition Congress on Friday staged a significant protest march to the Secretariat, demanding Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's resignation amid allegations from LDF MLA P V Anvar against senior IPS officers.
Hundreds of Congress members and supporters, led by KPCC chief K Sudhakaran, Leader of Opposition V D Satheesan, and AICC general secretary Deepa Dasmunsi, gathered with party flags, chanting slogans against the ruling Left government and the Chief Minister.
Sudhakaran criticized the eight-year tenure of Vijayan's government for dire law and order situations, citing 1.3 lakh FIRs related to women's sexual assault. He also condemned the recent brutal police action on Youth Congress activists, calling for the CM's resignation due to the police's lack of control. Dasmunsi and Satheesan echoed these demands, accusing the CM of shielding corrupt officials and failing to provide development and welfare activities.
