Haryana Leader of Opposition and Congress candidate Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Wednesday filed his nomination from the Garhi Sampla-Kiloi assembly constituency, confidently stating that the people of Haryana are inclined to elect a Congress government. 'People and 36 fraternities of Haryana have made up their minds to form a Congress government. BJP jaa rahi hai, Congress aa rahi hai (BJP is going out of power in Haryana and Congress is going to form the government),' Hooda told reporters after filing his nomination.
Former CM Hooda also performed a havan at his residence in Rohtak before submitting his nomination. Rohtak MP and Bhupinder Hooda's son, Deepinder Hooda, reiterated his father's optimism, asserting that Congress would form a majority government under Bhupinder Hooda's leadership. 'Congress will form the government with a majority under the leadership of Bhupinder Singh Hooda. The mood in Haryana is in favor of Congress. Under the BJP government, unemployment is highest, and the state is number one in crime. The people of Haryana will end this rule of the BJP and vote for change,' Deepinder Hooda remarked.
Meanwhile, BJP candidate from the Gharaunda Assembly Constituency, Harvinder Kalyan, also filed his nomination for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections, accompanied by Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. Khattar assured that all 90 nominations would be completed by September 12 and expressed confidence in BJP securing a third consecutive term. 'Tomorrow, September 12, is the last day of filing nominations. BJP candidate from Gharaunda Assembly Constituency Harvinder Kalyan has filed his nomination today. All 90 nominations will be completed by tomorrow. Our government will form a hattrick this time. Congress is already looking for an alliance but everyone is pulling back,' Khattar said.
Voting for the 90-member legislative assembly in Haryana is scheduled for October 5, with the last date for filing nominations being September 12. Counting of votes will take place on October 8. On August 31, the Election Commission of India (ECI) revised the polling date for the Haryana Assembly elections from October 1 to October 5 and moved the counting of votes for both the Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana assemblies from October 4 to October 8.
