Maharashtra Cabinet Announces New Corporations for Brahmin and Rajput Communities
The Maharashtra Cabinet has formed two new corporations to aid the economically weaker sections of the Brahmin and Rajput communities with a Rs 50 crore allocation each. Additional decisions include renaming Lohgaon Airport, and implementing several developmental projects across the state.

In a significant move, the Maharashtra Cabinet has decided to establish two new corporations aimed at uplifting the economically weaker sections of the Brahmin and Rajput communities. Each corporation will receive a Rs 50 crore allocation to address the specific challenges faced by these groups.
The 'Parashuram Economic Development Corporation' will be set up for the Brahmin community, while the 'Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap Economic Development Corporation' will cater to the Rajput community. The cabinet meeting, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, also featured other important decisions such as renaming Lohgaon Airport in Pune to 'Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj International Airport'. Additionally, three Kunbi sub-castes have been included in the Other Backward Classes list, and a new District and Additional Sessions Court is to be established at Junnar.
Other notable resolutions include doubling the remuneration for the state's sarpanch and deputy sarpanch, constructing a new complex for Bombay High Court at Bandra, and naming 14 ITI institutes. Furthermore, Rs seven crores have been allocated to Law Universities in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Nagpur. The cabinet also discussed improvements in direct recruitment of top athletes and extending Senior Pay Scale to Water Resources Employees.
