BJP Leaders in Telangana to Undertake Fast Demanding Farmer Support
BJP MLAs and leaders in Telangana will fast for 24 hours on September 30, urging the Congress government to implement promised schemes like 'Rythu Bharosa' for farmers. Despite being in office for nine months, the Congress has not fulfilled its pledges, including crop loan waivers and financial support to farm workers.

In a bold move, BJP MLAs and other political leaders in Telangana have announced a 24-hour fast scheduled for September 30. Their demand? That the Congress government uphold its promises, particularly the long-awaited 'Rythu Bharosa' scheme, which aims to provide financial support to farmers.
Expressing his dissatisfaction, BJP floor leader in the Assembly, A Maheshwar Reddy, criticized the state government, noting that even some ministers admitted the incomplete status of crop loan waivers. 'The crop loan waiver remains unfulfilled, reflecting the current state of governance,' he said during a press conference on Tuesday.
Reddy also highlighted other unfulfilled commitments made by the Congress, including aid to tenant farmers and a financial assistance package for farm workers. Citing the manifesto, Reddy pointed out that bonuses for paddy were promised but are now being restricted only to certain types of rice. The 24-hour fast will begin at 11 AM on September 30, as BJP leaders continue to press for these critical agricultural reforms.
