Union Minister Nityanand Rai on Monday sharply criticized Tejashwi Yadav for his inability to control crime in Bihar. Speaking to reporters, Rai remarked, 'When Tejashwi Yadav manages to control his RJD goons, crime in the state will reduce.'
Rai emphasized that the Bihar government is committed to being tough on crime and criminals. 'In Lalu ji's time, criminals used to get protection; today, they face punishment. The CM is overseeing everything, and both the state and Central government are alert to the flood situation in Bihar, taking all necessary steps,' he stated. On Sunday, Rai met with NDRF officials to discuss flood management.
'The flood situation in Bihar is serious, but both the state and Central government are monitoring closely,' Rai said. 'Eleven NDRF teams are ready in the districts, with additional teams stationed in Bihta, Varanasi, and Jharkhand.' Heavy rains in Nepal's Terai region have caused river levels to rise, creating a flood-like situation. Consequently, all trains from Jogbani to Katihar have been canceled, with operations shifted to Forbesganj railway station. Rivers like Praman, Nuna, Lohandra, Bakra, Ratua, and Sursar are overflowing and rising continuously.
Rai also accused former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav's family of exploiting the poor, following a CBI sanction to prosecute Lalu in a land-for-job case. 'Lalu's family has looted the poor, took land from them in exchange for jobs, and many didn't receive the jobs promised. Should no case be filed against them, will they be welcomed?' questioned Rai.
