Omar Abdullah, vice president of the National Conference, achieved a decisive victory in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, winning both the Ganderbal and Budgam seats. Abdullah secured over 32,000 votes in Ganderbal, defeating PDP's Bashir Ahmad Mir by more than 10,000 votes.

In a significant political victory, Omar Abdullah, vice president of the National Conference, emerged victorious in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, capturing the party stronghold of Ganderbal. He triumphed over his main competitor, PDP's Bashir Ahmad Mir, with a margin of more than 10,000 votes.
Abdullah also secured an overwhelming win in Budgam, surpassing his rivals by over 18,000 votes. As of now, Abdullah has solidified his influence and continues to resonate significantly with the electorate in both constituencies.
Having previously claimed the Ganderbal seat in 2008 and subsequently serving as the chief minister of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, Abdullah's political impact endures. Ishfaq Jabbar, a former MLA, finished a distant third with just over 6,000 votes in Ganderbal.
