Vinesh Phogat, a renowned wrestler who turned to politics, marked a significant victory in the Julana assembly seat, Haryana. On Tuesday, she referred to her electoral success as a triumph of struggle and truth.
According to the Election Commission, Phogat, the Congress candidate, outperformed her closest competitor, BJP's Yogesh Kumar, by a margin of 6,015 votes, having secured a total of 65,080 votes.
In her statement, the 30-year-old emphasized her dedication to the trust and affection of the electorate. Phogat entered the political arena after retiring from an illustrious wrestling career, where she had been a prominent figure in protests against the former WFI chief.
