BJP Set to Announce First Candidate List for Maharashtra Elections
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that the BJP will soon reveal its first list of candidates for the Maharashtra assembly elections, following resolution of issues on half of the contentious seats. Discussions with allies to finalize seat-sharing arrangements are nearing completion.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is gearing up to release its first list of candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated on Saturday that issues surrounding half of the contentious seats have been resolved.
Key leaders, including Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his deputies Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, held a crucial meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Friday evening to address seat-sharing disagreements among the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP allies.
Fadnavis noted at the Nagpur airport that the seat-sharing discussion is in its final stages. He added, 'Mahayuti partners may opt to declare candidates independently.' The alliance aims to maintain its hold in the 288-member assembly, challenged by the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition.
