In a dramatic financial surge, Kamala Harris' campaign and affiliated Democratic organizations have raised approximately $633 million in the quarter ending last month, thrusting their cumulative fundraising total to over $1 billion. This positions Harris with a dominant financial edge as the presidential election approaches its final stage, overshadowing Republican candidate Donald Trump.
During September alone, the campaign and party affiliates amassed more than $359 million, with Harris' campaign directly raising about $222 million. Despite spending significantly on an extensive advertising drive, the Harris campaign entered October with a robust $346 million in reserves, according to federal records. In contrast, the Trump campaign reported $160 million raised in September, starting the month with $283 million in the bank.
Key to Harris' fundraising success were star-studded events, including $55 million raised in a single weekend in late September during events in California and New York City. These high-profile gatherings featured celebrities like Jessica Alba, Lily Tomlin, Stevie Wonder, and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, drawing attention and substantial contributions.
