The Election Commission has dismissed accusations by Prashant Kishor, founder of Jan Suraaj, regarding the disqualification of a former army vice chief from the Tarari assembly bypoll in Bihar. The commission categorically termed Kishor's charges as 'baseless and misleading.'
The district election office clarified that Lieutenant General Shri Krishna Singh was ineligible to contest because his name was absent from the state's electoral roll. As per guidelines, any address change application must be submitted 10 days prior to the last nomination date, which Singh failed to do.
Kishor announced Kiran Singh as the new candidate for Tarari and Mohd Amjad replacing the Belaganj candidate. Despite these setbacks, Kishor expressed hope to leave a mark in the bypolls, though alleging a biased system favoring incumbent parties.
