BJD president Naveen Patnaik has called on party MLAs to represent the voices of 4.5 crore Odia citizens in the forthcoming Assembly session. His remarks came during a BJD legislature meeting, where he criticized the BJP government's alleged incompetence and irresponsibility, without directly naming the ruling party.

Patnaik highlighted the pitfalls of self-praise and finger-pointing, describing them as markers of ineffective leadership and governance. He instructed BJD MLAs to address issues plaguing Odisha in the House, particularly criticizing the central and state BJP governments for failing Odia interests despite being a 'double engine' administration.

Although the 'double engine' government has led Odisha for eight months, Patnaik argued that it hasn't safeguarded the state's welfare. As a committed opposition, BJD intends to defend Odia interests in the Assembly. On X, Patnaik reiterated, 'Biju Janata Dal will fight for Odia people's rights,' and urged fellow members to echo public sentiments in the Assembly.
