Manickam Tagore, a Congress MP, has sounded the alarm over national security concerns prompted by the Khavda Renewable Energy Project in Gujarat, developed by the Adani Group. Situated perilously close to the India-Pakistan border, the project has sparked fears over relaxed security protocols.
Tagore criticized the BJP-led Gujarat Government, as well as the central government, for allegedly holding clandestine discussions to sidestep military objections. He claimed these actions represent a grave threat to India's military integrity and national security protocols, accusing the administration of favoritism towards the Adani Group.
He further demanded accountability and a transparent debate in the Lok Sabha about the process involved in awarding this project, urging immediate attention to the potential compromise of national safety and prioritization of commercial interests over security.
