The people of Telangana, led by BRS spokesperson Sravan Daosju, have voiced strong dissatisfaction with the state government's recent decision to increase beer prices by 15 per cent. Daosju criticized the move as placing an undue economic burden on consumers and termed it a betrayal of those who voted for the ruling party.

In a letter addressed to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Daosju accused the state government of hypocrisy and political opportunism. He alleged that the increase was a result of quid pro quo deals with crony capitalists and described it as a covert 'Revanth Reddy Tax' benefitting private beer manufacturers.

The Telangana Government's decision, announced on February 11, followed a request from the Brewers Association of India and came shortly after United Breweries Ltd halted beer supply to the state. Daosju urged the government to retract the price hike, emphasizing that it appeared to prioritize the interests of beer manufacturers over the people.
