Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has strongly defended the 2025-26 Budget, dismissing accusations that it favors only National Democratic Alliance (NDA)-ruled states.

Speaking in the Rajya Sabha, Sitharaman challenged the Opposition's claims, branding them as 'unfounded' and emphasizing initiatives across all Indian states, including Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

The finance minister urged Congress-led states to enhance capital expenditure, as she detailed the Centre's Rs 15.48 lakh crore effective capital allocation, stressing that no state has been ignored in the national fiscal plan.
