Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov announced on Thursday that Ukraine would be included in any dialogues to end the conflict. However, a separate track dedicated to U.S.-Russia discussions is also expected.
According to the Russian news agency TASS, preparations for a potential meeting between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump could span several months, though both parties have agreed that Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is an apt venue.
This dialogue would mark the first direct contact between U.S. and Russian leaders since Putin communicated with President Joe Biden before the Russian incursion into Ukraine in February 2022. The Kremlin expressed approval of Trump's stance on the Ukrainian war, indicating upcoming efforts for a Trump-Putin meeting.
